Enel Expands Presence in Wind Power in Greece

One thing that confuses me is if countries around the world can adopt wind power on a major scale why cant the USA?

We are a leader in technology this just does not make sense, I think it has alot to do with the Oil companies and politics. Are we going to be the country that turns our backs on the welfare of our Great Grandchildren?
